At CrossFit Exe, our qualified nutritionist uses The International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) method that accurately and reliably measures body composition (body fat and muscle mass levels). With a full body composition assessment and nutritional analysis, we can offer tailor made nutrition and supplement programmes that are specific to individual needs. The individually tailored programmes will help you achieve your performance and health goals.
What is involved?
Body Composition Assessment
Kinanthropometry is the area of science that focuses on the measurement of human body composition. Using the ISAK method, estimation of body fat levels are taken via skinfold calipers, which are taken from 8 anatomical sites around the body. Results are traditionally converted into a body fat % but due to the increased error count in doing this, it is best suited to use the total sum of skinfolds (mm). However, calculations that convert results into a % can be applied for those who wish. A full body composition, girth and breadth analysis and explanation of results can take up to 40 minutes.
Nutritional Overview
A full body composition and nutritional overview can be booked and using a detailed food and activity journal, we can make alterations and suggestions that are suited to your goals and your lifestyle. If a full body composition and nutritional overview are required then please allow for up to 1.5 hours. It is your responsibility to supply a one-week food and activity journal with as much honesty and detail as possible.
Follow Ups and Monitoring
Regular follow up and monitoring options are available and these are highly recommended to keep you on track and to keep you motivated.
The cost of the initial assessment, including the Body Composition Assessment and Nutritional Overview, is £50 and will take approximately 1.5 hours. Subsequent follow-ups and monitoring will be depend on individual requirements.
